Everybody’s home and tastes are different so when I am asked to style and photograph private houses I try to reflect the personality and the character of the property whilst showing the functionality of the spaces. All of them show a different lifestyle and functionality appealing to different audiences.
Beach House Vila do Bispo, Portugal
A young couple with a new baby bought a small retreat on the west coast of the Algarve to enable them to escape their hectic city life to the calm of a peaceful beach house in the country side whilst having direct access to a secluded beach for surfing. The brief was to furnish in a laid back natural style to reflect the surrounding nature and creating space for mediation for themselves and like minded friends needing a safe break from modern life.
Cottage Benagil Portugal
This typical Algarvian Fishermans cottage is part of a beautiful old Quinta (farmhouse). The owners decided to simply furnish an unused guest cottage in their unique property. We managed to curate furniture, they were not using, from other parts of the house plus a few new accessories and antiques we managed to find to make it into a quirky holiday stay for friends.
Farmhouse Mos Portugal
A traditional Minho farmhouse was renovated by a Norwegian couple 20 Years ago as a retirement home in the countryside with the addition of an extension reminiscent of a Norwegian long house. Not wanting to lose the house, the younger generation have adapted the layout to make full use of the open plan space and the stunning views from the sliding bay windows, down onto the river in the valley below to rent out as a nature retreat. The original furniture was kept giving a minimal vintage but homely feel to the property which lends itself to the architectural style of the photography the clients requested. Book here

In a fabulous location with views over one of Barcelonas marinas and a stones throw away from the beach. Villa Watamu Kenya
A small property by the sea on the Kenyan coast, this Swahili styled house was decorated with splashes of colour by the Belgian owner. Having little access to shops, the furniture is made locally in the Swahili style and has been painted white and together with cushions and covers made from the local kikoi fabric, it gives an atmosphere of a barefoot beach property. Now with less time to take full advantage of this lovely holiday home, the owner wanted images to send to friends and family around the world to take advantage of the Villa while she was travelling.
